The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) and CTI Professional Flight Training are proud to be teaming up to offer a rotor wing to fixed wing transition program for helicopter pilots interested in a career in commercial aviation. The program will be formally launched at OBAP’s 41st Annual Convention and Career Exposition, held August 9-11, 2017 in Lake Buena Vista Florida.
The commercial airline industry expects to experience a deficit of up to 15,000 pilots within the next 10 years, creating a lucrative and exciting opportunity for rotor wing pilots. That is why OBAP is partnering with CTI Professional Flight Training to offer its members a first-class Rotor Transition Program. The exciting fact is that costs for this training are eligible for reimbursement under the GI Bill. Rotor wing pilots can jump swiftly into a career as a commercial pilot with four easy steps:
- Attain their Single-Engine Commercial Pilot License (CPL ASEL)
- Attain their Instrument Rating
- Attain their Multi-Engine Commercial Pilot License (CPL AMEL)
- Achieve their R-ATP Certificate
Military aviators qualify for the lowest minimum R-ATP certificate requirements at just 750 hours total time and 250 fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC) hours.
For over 25 years Crew Training International (CTI) has developed advanced aviation training solutions for the Department of Defense, NATO, Lockheed Martin, and other professional organizations. They operate two FAA Part 141 approved flight academies and maintain relationships with several commercial airlines to help you accelerate your career transition. CTI also offers some of the newest and nicest aircraft in the business. Their aircraft employ all-glass cockpits, the latest Garmin GPS systems, and traffic and weather advisory capabilities. All of the training for the Rotary Transition Program (RTP) is performed one-on-one and is customized to fit the participants specific needs. CTI also offers several options for affordable housing during the training and can assist with the VA Benefits process.
