A private pilot’s license is your starting point for flying. It’s the aviation version of a driver’s license. You must be 16 years old to fly solo and 17 to get your private pilot license. A Part 141 Private Pilot course consists of at least 35 hours of flight. However, you will need more advanced licenses to accept payment for flying, or to fly in certain types of weather.
Our instrument rating course teaches you to fly and navigate under IFR (instrument flight rules) conditions. This means you fly using the information provided by the instruments in the cockpit, even if you can’t see what’s going on outside the window. The course covers weather, flight planning, and a variety of approach procedures. An FAA Part 141 Instrument Rating course consists of at least 35 hours of flight.
The Commercial ASEL (Airplane Single Engine Land) license is one of the two licenses that allow you to have a career as a pilot. It serves as an introduction to single engine complex aircraft. Complex aircraft have retractable landing gear, a controllable pitch propeller, and movable flaps.
This course is usually taught concurrently with the Commercial AMEL (Airplane Multi-Engine Land). An FAA Part 141 Commercial License course requires at least 120 hours of flight, but these hours can be combined towards a Commercial ASEL and AMEL
The Commercial AMEL (Airplane Multi-Engine Land) license is one of the two licenses that allow you to have a career as a pilot. It serves as an introduction to multi-engine complex aircraft. Complex aircraft have retractable landing gear, a controllable pitch propeller, and movable flaps.
This course is usually taught concurrently with the Commercial ASEL (Airplane Single-Engine Land). An FAA Part 141 Commercial License course requires at least 120 hours of flight, but these hours can be combined towards a Commercial ASEL and AMEL.
A multi-engine add-on program is used when you have completed your private or commercial single-engine course, and want to be able to fly a multi-engine aircraft. This is a relatively short course and is usually conducted under FAA Part 61 in around one week.
This course is usually taught concurrently with the Commercial ASEL (Airplane Single-Engine Land). An FAA Part 141 Commercial License course requires at least 120 hours of flight, but these hours can be combined towards a Commercial ASEL and AMEL.
A Certified Flight Instructor course teaches you to teach other new pilots! This course solidifies your existing aviation knowledge, and also covers flight maneuvers from the right (co-pilot) seat and effective teaching skills. Becoming a CFI is one of the best ways to gain flight experience to become more qualified for your aviation career. In fact, we hire many of our own students to stay on as instructors!
This course is usually taught concurrently with the Commercial ASEL (Airplane Single-Engine Land). An FAA Part 141 Commercial License course requires at least 120 hours of flight, but these hours can be combined towards a Commercial ASEL and AMEL.
The CFI-I (C-F-double-I) license enables you to teach new pilots at the instrument level. You will learn to help your students become familiar with instrument navigation and flight planning.
This course is usually taught concurrently with the Commercial ASEL (Airplane Single-Engine Land). An FAA Part 141 Commercial License course requires at least 120 hours of flight, but these hours can be combined towards a Commercial ASEL and AMEL.
The Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) license enables you to train students in complex multi-engine aircraft. This license is usually the last instructor license a student obtains, and is a great way to earn multi-engine pilot-in-command time.
