Find out more about the different stages:

Instrument Rating (Single Engine)

The instrument rating is the first stop after obtaining your private pilot license, and is arguably the most important license to your piloting career! This rating will help you to familiarize yourself with detailed and structured flight plans, facing the riskier parts of flying more safely, and refining your flying skills.

Glass Cockpit Jet Transition Course

This course is designed to introduce the piston pilot to the jet aircraft and glass cockpit environment. It also provides an opportunity to practice CRM tasks and procedures. The course is taught by current airline qualified line pilots. Pilots leave this program with an absolute “edge” in the airline interview and training process!

Time Building Phase

Solo time building is an important part of your training, and usually consists of approximately 55 hours in our Piper Warrior II or Diamond DA-20, plus an additional 10 hours of free safety pilot time.

Commercial Single Engine Course

Our Commercial Single Engine Course is conducted in the Piper Arrow II, and introduces our students to complex aircraft. You’ll learn to execute different commercial maneuvers, get acquainted with landing gear, and get the credentials you need to accept paying passengers!

Commercial Multi Engine Course

Our Commercial Multi Engine Course is conducted in the Beechcraft Duchess (Florida) or Diamond DA-42 (Tennessee), and is the last course in our full Professional Pilot Program. At the completion of this course, you will hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate, single and multi-engine land with an instrument rating. With these certificates, you’ll be eligible to fly many types of planes as a commercial pilot.

Professional Pilot Program Base Price: $43,786

As with every school, actual costs vary depending on each student’s unique abilities. Our price quotes are based on FAA minimum required hours under FAR Part 141 regulations and do not include any applicable examiner fees, student visa fees, TSA fees, knowledge exam costs, textbooks, or accommodations. Flight training is a highly individualized process and the actual number of hours required to reach a standard will vary significantly by candidate. Fuel Surcharges may apply and are subject to change without notice. Programs may vary between our locations. There is a one-time enrollment fee for all CTI Professional Flight Training students.
