New Performances and Great Weather Expected for the Memphis Air Show
This year’s Memphis Air Show in Millington has just added several more exciting performances to their event this Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and May 14.
Canadian Forces Snowbirds and CF-18 Hornet
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Jet Team will be performing both days, along with the Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet Demo Team. The addition of these two elements is special for the Memphis Air Show and promise a one-of-a-kind experience. Rarely will you get a chance to see these beautiful aircraft and experience their amazing aerobatics.
P-51 Quick Silver Mustang
The show will also feature a performance by the P-51 Quick Silver Mustang, a long-range, single-seat, fighter aircraft primarily used during World War II. The P-51 is powered by the Packard V-1650-7, a license-built version of the Rolls Royce Merlin 60 series two-stage, two-speed supercharged engine.
F-4U Corsair
Also added to the roster is the F-4U Corsair, one of the most famous and most recognizable fighters from World War II. This unique fighter plane was the first to exceed 400 mph and is known for its unusual bent-wing design. This fantastic aircraft will both give a dramatic aerial display and will be available for close viewing in the static display.
And More
Other additions include the B-17 Flying Fortress “Texas Raider” and the Stearman Formation Team, flying their iconic biplanes.
Weather for both days is expected to be great, so don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime event. The event will be held at the Millington Regional Jetport at 8101 Hornet Ave, Millington, TN. While you are there, stop by the CTI tent to meet our Certified Flight Instructor team and to register for a drawing for one of two discovery flights in the Diamond DA-20, which will be given away. General admission to the event, as well as a limited number of Premium Box and Flight Line Club tickets are available while supplies last at www.memphisairshow.org.
